Did anybody watch this? Wow just wow! The nephew is obviously slow mentally and the uncle who had already served an 19 year prison sentence only to be exonerated via DNA of a sexual assault is again arrested convicted of murder. This is in Wisconsin BYW!

What I got from it is that LE and people in Manitowoc just flat out resented these people (the avery family) and they were hell bent on finding Steven guilty at all costs.

How anybody could see the Manitowoc police force as competent and capable is beyond me. I had a good laugh when the police released statements about their good, hard work when, in reality, it was their shoddy police work that got us into this whole mess. If the keys were found by some cops that were actually supposed to be on the scene, there would be little confusion here.

That police dept and DA office are crooked as hell and I have no idea why but they cannot stand the Avery family and those people it seems were just living their lives minding their own business.

I seriously do not think Steve Avery or his nephew murdered that Halbach woman but someone did a whale of a job framing them.

The nephew is clearly mentally challenged and I suspect Steve is as well.

As someone who actually lives in the area, and whose wife went out looking for her when she went missing, I can tell you that you have no idea what youre talking about.

Documentaries are one-sided and made to prove a certain viewpoint.

Edit: and this will be my only post on the matter. Its still a very sore subject for many of us.

But why would he do a crime after spending 18 years in prison for something he maintained he didn't do that was proven he did not do. Up until the 1985 conviction he didn't seem to have a criminal past.

Yes it does. I'm not sure if Avery murdered the Halbach woman or not but I do know that PD was dead set on going after him especially the lawsuit was filed.

But why sit in prison for 18 years then commit a crime! Makes no sense!

I mean a guy sitting in prison for 18 years for a crime he didn't do would probably harbor some pretty negative feelings toward the person who accused him.

Not too much of a stretch that he would extend those negative feelings about one woman into negative feelings for ALL women over the span of 18 years.

I read somewhere that one of his prison buddies said he would talk about building a torture chamber for women once he got out of prison or something.

The documentary was interesting and I was definitely on his side while I was watching it but yeah I think it was super one-sided. The only thing we know for sure is that Ken Kratz is a piece of shit.

I agree but he did the time involving another woman not the Halbach woman he was accused of murdering. The thing that struck me odd was when that guy Ryan Hillegas was on the stand he seemed dodgy and no one knew he had once dated Halbach. Yeah Kratz is a piece of work but that whole PD and DA office seems super corrupt. When Avery filed that lawsuit against them for $36M they did not like that and to my knowledge they never ever entertained the idea that someone else could have been a suspect.
