Granted, not necessarily in low light, but the daytime shots are unrivaled. They're so good.

Posting on a Note 8, but it's kind of amazing how little of an upgrade it is over the S6 generation as far as screen quality and camera goes.

i still use my s6 as a camera sometimes because the pictures come out so much better than with my iphone. if the battery lasted for more than 45 minutes than i would still be using the s6 today honestly

It's not getting slow for you? Mine is and the battery sucks now.

Mine never felt slow, but the battery was just awful. I had an S6 Edge, but it's basically the same phone.

Not at all. Battery is great as well unless I'm using it for games when bored or YouTube. But then it never lasted long when doing that stuff.

My friend had an Xperia Z3 he imported, and that thing had the most epic battery life I've ever seen. Could go for at least two days of relatively heavy use.

Pretty sure the consensus from reviewers is the Pixel 2 XL has the best one on the market currently.

Yeah, I imagine if I used my phone for more than basic stuff and occasional interneting I might be annoyed with the battery life. But it fits my use perfectly as is, and I got it it free to begin with so been very happy with it.

Imagine not knowing that the Pixel doesn't easily shit on every phone camera in existence nowadays.

Even my gen 1 gets crazy shots. My gf's 2XL too? Shit looks insane

I have the S6 in my hand now. I have the S7 at home. S7 camera is so much better. I tested the S9 in the store and that one was phenomenal.

I was trying to decide between the S8 and the Pixel 2. The S8 has that godly form factor but the Pixel's camera won me over and I'm glad I went with it, despite its clunky and boring body.

I still keep my S6 around for its camera. It really is still the best phone for daytime landscape shots. But yeah the battery only lasts like 20 min.

I feel petty for even chiming in but there's no way this is true in 2018.

I'm still on the S5.

Have they drastically increased low light quality since my old phone? That's my biggest complaint. It's always so fuzzy in low light.

Go try it, tough guy. I'm a smartphone camera snob (lol) and have basically every flagship. It has to do with the superior 16:9 aspect ratio, higher MP count, and that lens quality really hasn't improved much since the S6.

There's really only so much you can do with these tiny sensors. That's why we've just been adding more cameras to phones since the S6. Huge hardware improvements to the main cam just isn't possible atm.

Of course your pixel is overall the better camera, though.

I don't see how rotating the phone suddenly changes what has the better camera. The camera of the Pixel and probably other flagships like the S9 and Huawei's new model still has the same superior picture quality in landscape or portrait.

Love the camera of my S8+.

Dual Pixel/PDAF functionality from the S7 generation on up is worth the upgrade. This thing focuses lightning fast.

I can never get good pics on an Android. How the fuck do you do it? I don't get how they consistently have the "best" cameras in terms of specs, but pictures come out as potatos. I have an S8+

Lol what?

This is from my Pixel:

iPhone SE probably has a better camera now and you can get one for $140

Now the Galaxy S7, that was great. Some photos were a little too dynamic in color though

iPhone X photos are extraordinary though

I had a photography job in college so Ive been a little more observant of smartphone cameras in recent years

You misunderstood my point and entire explanation. 16:9 camera sensors > 4:3 camera sensors for landscape photos being viewed on 16+:9 screens. I meant literal landscapes as well. Higher MP, similar lens quality to current flagships, etc, There's a reason this topic was made.
