Would it count as piracy, especially if you bought a "console" with games you never legitimately bought/owned before???

Man, I saw something on Facebook that looked badass and had games with multiple consoles on it and they came looking like one of the old consoles. But 5 fucking minutes later when I went back to look at it again it disappeared forever.

Been looking for it since. If I find one I'm buying one.

Can't count as piracy if you're buying it from a company that has the right to sell it.

NES/SNES Classic don't count, cause they're sold by Nintendo, etc.

I think he means buying a PS4 from a guy with games installed in it, for example.

And I'm pretty sure the companies could argue it's account sharing and ban the account.

I was talking about more along the lines of an "android" based or raspberry pie based system that comes with a "supposed" "+1,000" games.

That's just illegal ROM distribution, unless they are crappy games made for it.

If it's not official, it's piracy. The real question, though, is whether the fault lies with you or the person that produced it. I'm fairly certain that you wouldn't be guilty of anything unless you actually trafficked in the games yourself, since buying a knockoff of a name brand is not illegal.

I was just curious, cuz I was thinking of buying an raspberry pie...
It's just that I saw some with emulators or games pre installed in it...

Buy an Odroid-XU4, install Lakka OS. Very easy to do. Then you can obtain the ROMs legally and load them on yourself.

Yeah, I can't see anyway you could get in trouble for that. If anything, the person selling it would.
