I watched Goblet of Fire the other night and I had forgotten how poor of an adaption it was. I get that it's one of the longer books but they sure did leave quite a bit out. And made some odd decisions with some stuff, too.

Yeah that's pretty classic. Richard Harris was the better Dumbledore.

It's almost like adding visual and sonic elements to a scene means altering the intensity leads to a greater impact.

But what do I know, a 2.5-hour long film clearly has the same dynamics as a many-many-hours long book.

People make fun of this, but given the severity of the situation he actually was fairly calm. At worst he just tried to make sure he got to Harry before anyone else could strangle him.
