Nowadays our access to information and current events is at our fingertips. Most of our daily activities involve processing new information, in many different ways. But before that? The world must have felt so small.

news traveled slow and the world outside your hometown was distant and might as well be another planet. every once in a while some random person would come into town and mention something that happened in a far off land. by the time you heard about it, it might have happened as much as a year ago even. maybe even more. like if you lived in England and heard about the results of a battle in the crusades. maybe it took a year for the news to reach your village.

also it was much easier to entertain people though. we in the modern day are spoiled, but back then they would just get a rare visit from performers. maybe a juggling act. a couple short plays. some guy telling simple jokes. and the whole village was super excited for it. cause that's all they got to mix up their normally dull lives
