Not really. It's kinda oily, but not dirty. I wash it regularly and eat healthy so, idk. Also helps to wipe the sweat off your face with a cloth throughout the day if it gets hot. Also drink more water.

Whats your current skincare routine?

I only thoroughly wash my face about once every two weeks...other than that I just wipe my face with a wet washcloth as I shower.

you're obviously not buying enough products to deal with this thing that isn't really a problem.

you should go buy more things to cure this.

A lot of face washes will alkalize your skin and you need to bring down the ph with a toner. Alkalized skin feels very tight and dry and then it gets flakey. It's much more sensitive too. This also causes your skin to over produce sebum as a way to try and counter it.

Some face washes also completely strip your skin of it's oil, which also causes over production of sebum to counter that. Your skin has to have a balance of oil and water. People with oily skin tend to be drawn to that type of face wash because it gives them a sense of relief for a few hours but really, it's just a sabotaging your face.

When you use bad cleansers it destroys your skins moisture barrier and it loses it's ability to retain water. When this happens your skin gets dehydrated through trans epidermal water loss and the way skin reacts to dehydration is by producing more sebum. Hot showers also draw out moisture from your skin and damage your moisture barrier.

Stay away from anything labeled as acne face wash and anything with alcohol. These just harm your skin. Stay away from physical exfoliates too, they do much more harm than good. Stay away from foaming cleansers because the ingredient that makes it foam will strip your skin of oil and again, it counters by over producing sebum.

your skin compensating by "overproducing" sebum is a myth

your skin can't tell whether it's drier than usual or not

it's just that oil is a lot more apparent on drier skin than it is on already oily skin

-

anyway, tc, it could either be diet-related or just plain hereditary

if you're that serious about doing something about it, you can change your diet or look into a small-dosage accutane regimen
