I liked Luke Cage 2 more than I thought I would. Claire was really annoying, but thank god they got rid of her right away. She was like the Skylar of the show, constantly busting Luke's balls for doing things that are fun and exciting to the audience.

Bushmaster >>> Diamondback. And Shades got more screentime and fleshing out, which is great. Even Mariah was better in this season.

Only thing that kinda irked me was the random racism rants. Look, there's nothing wrong with dealing with the topic of racism and Luke does frequently in the comics. But it's weird when it comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with the immediate situation. I don't recall there being a single racist antagonist, or ancillary character, in the entirety of season 2. In season 1 there was the racist cop in the flashback, but in this one I don't believe we see Luke deal with racism even one time.

Like, Claire confronts Luke about his mean streak and how he needs to reconnect with his father, then Luke goes "I am a black maaaaan! I'm either angry all the time or I gotta be a puppy dog because racists won't have it any other way!"

Which would at least make some sense if there actually were a racist in the show pressuring Luke to be like that somehow, but there isn't. Everyone except the villains seems to love him, and the villains are all black too

The racism thing is minor, but it comes up often enough to get annoying.

My biggest problem though is that Luke himself doesn't get enough screentime. There are a lot of episodes where we see more of Mariah than Luke. This is really the biggest problem with the show.

I would swap DD1 with JJ1 but other than that I pretty much agree. Iron Fist was trash (a real shame since I love the comics) and the Defenders wasn't much better. I actually haven't gotten around to Luke Cage yet, but I can't imagine it being worse than those two

Haven't seen LC2

I'm fine with that order, but I'd say Punisher was better than DDs2. There's a colossal dropoff for the last three.
