When I finally buy a Switch late next year (when a real Pokemon game comes out), then I'll pick it up as well. Hopefully by then it will be $30 or whatever.. as long as it's not $60.

You are the one assuming it has anything to do with graphics. For me it doesn't, it is about gameplay. The gameplay is very much that of a game that would have been released 25 years ago. Now in the past this could pass as a $40 game (Bravely Default, for example) but now that the switch is a console the developers think that entitles them to a $60 game. Spend that if you want, but I don't support such arrogance.

the main story is stated to be around 40-50 hours long and all the side content included results in a playtime of 80-100 hours

if it's because of the graphics need i remind you FF13 looked great but gameplay wise was horrible

I dont care about hours of playtime at all. Id spend $60 on a 2 hour game if I thought it looked good enough. I just know that the budget is low and Square Enix is a huge company, they dont get to charge $60 for something that would go for $30 to $40 on the 3DS or Vita (which could both likely run this)

I'm 100% getting it. I'm on my third and final demo playthrough (which I'll be using for my main file) and it's great.

If people are turned off by the graphics alone, then they don't get it. Now, if they actually tried it and still didn't like it (whether because it's turn-based, not liking the story, not liking the combat, or whatever else), then yeah that's fair. Can't please everyone.

If you love turn-based JRPGs, there's no reason to hate this just because of the graphics. Those people you don't need to take seriously.

But I'm not nostalgic for intentionally old looking sprites.
