It's been on my mind recently, so naturally I'm freaking out about it. My mom's dad was bald at around 25(I'm 23 now) so of course I've been looking at my hair a lot more. It still looks pretty good, but does look like it might be thinning. However, my dad's, mom's dad was bald at like 30, and both my dad and uncle have full sets of hair at 60 so that gives me some hope.

I bought some biotin shampoo and have been using that, but that's about all I've been doing.

Has anyone experienced this/used anything to help them out? Kerotin or anything? Open to suggestions/

I used to be down about it but I'm balding very fast now (28) and I've just accepted it. There's still enough that I can buzz it right down to a #1 and it looks okay, but I'll be chrome dome in a year or two.

I have a whole bunch of baldness in my family. It's starting to hit me now and I'm 28. It's really thinning right on the crown of my head. I'm trying to reverse it at the moment but it could be a futile effort.

I wouldn't overly worry yet if you're not seeing any signs of it. Just keep using your shampoo for now.

Yeah, I figured if it happens to me, I'm just gonna grow a full beard and gain like 30 more lbs of muscle and be just a big meat head lol.

Wait, really? Both my parents have great hair for their age at 60.

So either I'll start balding in my 30s, or I'll have a full head of hair at 80

I heard if you catch it early enough, it can be reversed so I'm trying to be proactive. Sorry to hear that man.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I don't see any receding hairline nor have I lost any hair, it just looks thinner and maybe that's because I'm looking at it everyday now and wasn't before lol.

I'm just gonna add that I can't see that I'm balding in the mirror at all. I still can't. I didn't notice it until I caught myself on some CCTV <_<

So be sure to be check that crown area if you aren't!

Well it can work...

Hitting the gym is a common way for men to compensate for baldness. And it can have success. Although the reasons why are a lot more than just looking fit. Commitment to a gym routine that's producing results can encourage a guy to take more disciplined initiative with staying in shape and become more confident in his physical abilities. These can be very attractive traits on their own and can positively influence how he conducts other areas of his life as well. And flattering recognition of these changes by self and peers can pull a lot of balding guys out of the rut of losing their hair. It can help them reinvent their image and convince them that the hair was just an expendable aspect of them.

I appreciate the words of advice, but I already go to the gym like everyday haha. I'm like 200lbs at 5'9" and am, in my opinion, pretty muscular. I just meant I'd go totally ham and get up to like 240 and be huge.

how has nobody mentioned propecia/finasteride yet

i think it's also been made recently so that you don't need a prescription anymore too (in the u.s.)

Literally the posts right above yours. It's a forgotten drug because the side effects aren't worth maintenance + tiny regrowth to most men.
