Or rather, not everyone can be bought. All this money, and it can't buy you extra time in a day, or buy you people like you can buy trinkets at a store.

It's just one of those unfortunate realizations, that money really can't solve all problems or get you what you want when you want it. Not really at least.

No, but money can slow down time.

The day burns rapidly when you know you've gotta chase that next dollar. Hard to truly stop and breathe.

But once you've stacked up a pile, when you know the shit can hit the fan like a motherfucker and you'll be fine regardless... It's a great stress relief, and in my experience the days don't fly by as fast.

Of course money or not, every year seems to be over faster than the last one as you get older...

Sounds like something a poor person would come up with to rationalize being poor.

You can't buy time with money

So why do we sell our time for money?

Well, if I have enough money that I don't need to work, I gain 8 to 12 hours extra a day.

If I was rich, I could try making myself partially more attractive, which would make people like me a little more.

Sounds more like something rich people have passed down to get poor people to accept being poor not matter how hard they work a lot of the time tbh.

I mean I know people working 60-80 hours a week that really aren't all that well off. There's not much that can be done, even if they wanted to work more there's not enough jobs as it is, and at a certain point it's not worth it because what would you do with it? It's not going to help make your life easier when you're making your life harder to get it.

But about the main post....

With money you have security, if you're sitting on savings and something happens you can do something about it. If you're unhappy with your job because they're treating you wrong, you don't have to take it if you have money. (I've seen quite a few people legit being taken advantage of and not really even being treated like real living people by workplaces because they know people need the job and are desperate.)

Money can buy you time. It can give you the ability to grab people you care about things because you thought of them. It can help you have more time for the people you want to connect with, and purchase things you can use to enrich bonding. People unfortunately overall treat you better if you have money, and look down on you if you're poor like you're lazy and stupid even if you're busting your @$$. A lot of people look at poor people as lesser.

You can go to the doctor without feeling like you're going to be in serious debt over it. You don't have all the anxiety attached to having to budget so many things. Unfortunately, money pretty much can fix most of your problems unless you basically refuse to do anything about them. (And even then most of the time people are willing to look the other way if you have enough.) You can get medication/therapy (better therapy in fact, you can shop around and look for therapy that fits you best and not have to worry about a price tag with money) for being depressed, you can pick up hobbies and activities and put them down if they don't fit. There's the heightened risk of people trying to deceive you I suppose, but anyone can be conned for any reason. Even just for the 'funsies' of it because the world has not so very nice people in it.

Distracting yourself with things doesn't really work after a while though, you need people. But when money comes into play to get people things can get tricky.
