I said you couldn't get in given what you described as your current cv. I gave you direct advice as to how you should plan ahead and what you should prepare for, but you were confident that you were going to get in regardless because you are just brilliant (I think you may have called yourself a creative genius).

Game is rigged so to speak, but as someone from a disadvantaged background, I know the necessary things to start pulling yourself up. Your reluctance to accept any advice that wasn't "you're good bro" is the reason you didn't have a good chance of getting in.

You have yet to tell me what the supposed advice was. Afaik, 'plan ahead' basically meant, plan to not get in, because it's hard to get in. That's not a plan though. Also, all this stuff happened when I was already applying, so how could any of your advice be applicable in terms of helping me to get in during the academic year I was applying for? You're lying or forgot.

I believe I told you to take a gap year and do additional research, try to get a paper in at least the stages of submission.

Essentially, applying to grad school seemed like an after thought to you, and you needed to spend more time preparing your cv.

Determinism:

You can't choose your location of birth, parenting situation, race, life's obstacles, how much purpose you will find in life and when, or if you will have more than one to distract you, etc. It's just going to be a lot easier for certain types of people who have less of these things to worry about.
