Are you going with friends? I find going alone to be stressful. Helps to know at least one person, but if you have a naturally outgoing personality you should be able to enjoy it

A good way to chat people up is go near the music player and ask those around them what songs they like and then buy one of them to be played. You strike up conversation, play some music, find a way into a circle of people
