It doesn't take a genius to see the outcome of the way a lot of Democrats are acting. Their party is becoming more and more unpopular every day owing to their platform pretty much being reduced to "call the other guys and their supporters evil".

Going towards the center isn't necesserially a bad idea, it may pick up more support from centrists who currently see the right as the lesser of two evils. As long as it's with well-defined (but centrist / center-left) policies, rather than just "uhhh we got nothing, but HEY LOOK HOW BAD THE OTHER GUY IS".

I mean this in a legit way, i'm not a "whataboutist" guy. I would love to see the dems actually stand for something again. That aside though, it literally worked exactly like your initial post for the Republicans the entire 8 years Obama was in office. They demonized him as a secret muslim socialist and his supporters as unamerican communists. Their entire legislative platform was obstructionist, for his first term it was stated by the party as "lets make sure he's a one term president".

My point here is that if it worked for GOP it could potentially work for the dems. Again i'd rather see them run on a platform of workers rights and social programs, but if being crybaby bitches for 4-8 years can work for the GOP it can certainly work for their opposition.

You're right but it definitely has a much stricter pattern.

Also, I've seen an argument with one man who was Democratic and five Republicans sitting and while luckily no other customers were there, they were yelling because he disagreed with them and their views and they were not very nice about it. Worse is that they knew each other for years and drank coffee a lot but politics kinda fucked that up and these are supposed to be the regular common folk who aren't far on either side.

The best argument I can make is that no side is any better than the other and the far extremes on both sides are horrible but i still can't stand conservative argument because it opposes what I feel inside and all I feel and see is hatred from everyone. "The end of times are coming" I remember as my grandmother and aunt talked of the gays in New Orleans or L.A. and how they're going to burn in hell and that the hurricanes are going to take out those monsters down in NOLA.

but never truly grasped at what they meant as all I can see were true monsters in front of me, sinning as they mocked sinners and hoped for their deaths. That's what broke me from religion and overall, I broke away from conservatism because everywhere I went, it was all just murky and disgusting. I didn't like the liberal side either but mostly because I have a dark sense of humor and they're bound to be my undoing.

Well the weird thing here is that you have to walk a fine line and by fine line, I mean politics is evil as fuck. You want to get your way, you have to get there no matter how much shit you have to walk through.

Weird thing is that there's always that argument about how one side is dirtier than the other but dems are cowards while Republicans will do anything to win...

but that's all propaganda. Fake news as a phrase is just a go-to to say that they're wrong and you're right in so little words because everyone knows what it refers to. Politics was brought up in my work place and it became insufferable. I don't care whose side I'm on, I just wanted it to stop because we have customers listening and the last thing I need is to have someone call on us because of something like that...religion and politics are not professional in the work place.

One of the things Jesus teaches is to not judge others. It's not our decision who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.

Followers who you feel are immoral shouldn't turn you away from religion or conservatism or liberalism. Make your own opinions, regardless of what others' opinions are.

That's 100% true of the likes of Chuck Schumer. I mean, he literally looked the other way and let the more conservative members of his caucus vote to water-down the Dodd-Frank regulations(which were inadequate to begin with). This would be hugely unpopular and a cudgel for Democrats to wield against Republicans, except Schumer, Manchin, McCaskill, etc. agree with the idea that Dodd-Frank was too "severe" in its handling of the industries which created the 2008 economic crisis and the resultant Great Recession.(And it was "conveniently" lost in the breathless reporting of Trump scandals 367-813)
Because, really, most of the media is controlled by moneyed interests.
The Republicans are irredeemable, but we're truly doomed if the Democratic Party remains a party where the likes of Chuck Schumer and Corey Booker are front-and-center.
