Like if I want to use it with an emulator, is it as simple as plugging it in and Windows treats it exactly like a keyboard or do I gotta go through a big hassle like I did with my PS3 controller back in the day? Xpadder doesn't work with Windows 10 so i'm figuring out what to do.

No, it's pretty much plug and play. You might have to jump through an extra hoop if you're trying to use a wireless controller (you will need a dongle and might have to download Xbox software).
X1 controller is even easier, you can use literally any microUSB cable and plug it in and you're good. --- ESO: @Ultima_Vyse RS3: UltimaSuende . 99 WC/99 FISH/ 85/99 Cooking ... Copied to Clipboard!

Most emulators should detect it automatically as a joypad, so all you have to do is go into the settings and setup the buttons. You don't have to mess with drivers like you did with the PS3 controller.
