in RBY, I LITERALLY cannot catch Mewtwo no matter what without the Masterball. It's literally impossible. I can have it's health down to a pixel, have it asleep, and throw all my Ultraballs at it and I'll run out and not catch it.

You can actually win a Master Ball in the lotto in Sun/Moon

AFAIK that's the only way to get a second (and more) Master Ball in any of the games without using trading or online stuff.

If I only have one, I try to save it for a shiny.

If I end up with more, I'll soft reset in front of whatever legendary I want most and use Master Balls until I get the right nature and IVs.

Pretty sure all or most lottos have a master ball as the grand prize. Chances of winning are slim though.

To answer the question I usually like to color coordinate my competitive team with pokeballs and such when I decide on a final team for tournaments, so if it goes well with something I'll use it then.

Legendary because there's bound to be one in OU that isn't going to be raised or lowered in tier that gen, and getting one with the right nature and good IVs will still take forever if done with master balls.

Arguably more difficult in 7th gen because of the guaranteed 3 perfect IVs, since many actually can make use of certain hidden powers and 31 spreads on 3 stats can prevent certain types entirely if they land on certain stats... And there's 3 guaranteed chances they will.

I remember having fun trying to catch Raikou/Entei/Suicune, but they were still annoying. I usually use mine on the mascot of the game. Just seems fitting.

And that's rng. I've legit caught a couple of legendaries at the start of a fight full hp no status etc by throwing a pokeball because I got mad a resetting. Usually it fails but I've gotten to work a couple of times.
