It seems to be that new trend is "All Screen" phone units with "Pop Out" camera units and Thumb Print sensors built underneath the screen at the bottom.

Would you want your next phone to be "All screen" or as close as possible to the 100% "All screen" paradigm that is happening throughout the Smart Phone world?

not literally a blackberry, but I had a cheap little phone with a full qwerty keyboard and it was great for texting :D

I had a T-Mo G1 (the original Android phone), and it was awesome in terms of physical features. If I could have that phone, but updated to today's hardware specs, that'd be awesome.

I feel like the whole screen-only thing is probably inevitable, but it was kinda fun when phone companies were more experimental with their designs

You can hold onto the sides of the phone, that's what I do and it isn't an issue.

And why did somebody decide to put buttons on opposite sides of Galaxy (and other) phones? You try to press one, and then you squeeze the other side to get leverage, so you wind up hitting both buttons on each side. What a really stupid fucking idea that way.

That's the most ergonomic place for right handers to manipulate the Volume Buttons with one handed use.

It's not like the entire side is covered in buttons, just the top end of it.

I really don't see the hype for them, I especially hate the poor structural integrity of having curved sides on a phone. There's a reason why my old Note 3 survived dozens of drops while newer Galaxy phones get cracked edges after the first time.

full screen is nice, but only if the phone is 5 inches or so diagonally. I have an S8 which is almost full screen, but it's almost 6 inches. That's too big to be able to comfortably reach the top of the screen while holding the phone with one hand.

I hope we see some smaller full screen models.

I think the S8 and S9 strike the best balance between form and function.

Samsung is the only manufacturer doing it right. Maximum screen-to-body ratio without the obnoxiousness of a notch.

This. This so much. This was one the main reasons I waited soo long before taking the smartphone step. My first smartphone had a keyboard but it was garbage and had so many irritating glitches. So I figured Im embracing new while old was failing me so hard.

They didn't have cell phones when I was younger. What kind of training should I have had? I play several musical instruments. And video games. I'm actually really good with my hands. And they're strong, too.

Console games predominantly focus on the thumbs and pointing fingers as a secondary.

As for musical instruments, what instruments did you play?

I have the S9+ and it's close enough for me. the screens plenty big. i don't really need that extra 2% screen space.
