Mikasa and Levi are just overpowered AND Erins a Titan WITH upgrades and now Armins also a Titan.

Its jumped the shark cause the MCs are too damn strong now.

I've watched it, but I haven't read it. some observations:
-the dialogue is forced and bad. like 80% of it is glottal stops
-most of the "animation" is just panning across a still image
-plot holes
-it's essentially a "what if the jews were actually giants that ate people" story (the writer is an anti-semite)

it's just generally not good. in many ways.

I mean they are pretty strong but literally the whole world now wants them dead and its already been shown there are artillery weapons strong enough to kill a Titan shifter.

And they partly did so well because Marley(or rather a small handful of higher-ups) WANTED to be attacked and devastated so as to turn the world firmly and passionately against Paradis. Both giving them more forces to fight paradis and decreasing tensions with other countries by having shared pain and a common goal.

That honestly seems kind of ridiculous though, considering Eren and him have known each other for their whole childhood.

So at the very least Im much more interested now in seeing how they work this into the story in a way that makes sense. Im assuming they find a way to turn people into shifters and he goes for it.

Basic story rundown

So there was a queen who made a deal with the devil, possibly figurative or literally, and created titans. She could control them, reigned down fury upon the world, etc.
She split her essence into 7 special titans and they were inherited by 7 people
Eventually a king used the founding titan (the primary and most powerful one) to create an island filled with the titans and turned them into walls, threatened he'd unleash them upon the world if disturbed
He actually was doing that to create peace and try and atone for the titans ruining the world
One of the countries that had been subjugated had most of the titans, and wanted to destroy the people of that island
Eren's father was from that nation and sympathetic to the island nation
Stuff about memory wiping all knowledge of the outside world
Eren's father actually had 2 of the 7 titan powers, the founding one and some other combat one
Eren was forced to become a titan with serum then ate his father
Warriors sent on a mission before the start of the series to reclaim the founding titan
Eren's father wanted eren to destroy that enemy nation and free the island and that's why he left the records
Time skip
War with marley


I can't remember the bit about inheriting that one king's will and thus being unable to resist temptation correct though

Also the season 2 ending stuff, it's super spoilerific but at least avoids enough specifics that it won't ruin stuff

I read the manga after finishing the season and the first time I saw the ending suspected it was the origin of the titans and people fleeing them to create the kingdom. I wasn't entirely wrong. Them showing the ocean bit though is what's probably the biggest spoiler you won't even notice until you find out what it entails.

are you fucking kidding me, Levi got his armn wrecked and could nto participate in important key operations for like a couple of years in real time and for like 3 major fights in the thing, imagine him not fighting to retake the wall or to fight the female titan, thats how huge it was.

Yes they find about the basement and it is also huge, then since you asked spolers they finally take revenge on the initial attack that starts the series and they go and do basically just that to the perpetrators country and it's a fucking bloodbath, aside from the fact that they tried to use a bunch fo titans to defend themselves btu still got fucking rekt. At this point we had a buuuuunch of episodes with the other side's kids life and shit so we saw the invasion in kind of the same light and painted the protagonist in a way darker shade than we were used to when they started killing people in the beggining.

the king's will is basically just to abandon the will to fight agaisnt outsiders, but the reason went secret for years till like a couple of months ago.

But yeah. I basically see the plot going like, the paradis citizens under eren will one day soon destroy Marley, then have to convince the rest of the world that they are no threat, use the founding titans power to destroy the walls and kill those titans, then seal the powers of the titans forever. But who knows, they only make like 1-2 chapters a month. :(

why did they leave it and its contents intact?

My problem is that the show can't decide if it wants to be a serious military anime, a gruesome horror one, or a "Hurr thinly veiled allegory for real world events and humans are the real monsters" one

Personally it's the best comedy I've seen in years
