Sometimes I'm fine with it but I kind of hate this job. Especially as of late.
It's the highest paying job I've had so far and looking for a new job, one with around the same amount of pay, no less, can be a pain in the ass.

Despite most people telling me I do a great job, I have to put up with annoying co-workers who go unnoticed for whatever reason and a very few other people who work nearby that seem to find some way to downplay whatever I do. I feel so under appreciated despite how much I do. Funny thing is, if I even entertain the idea of resigning, I'm called into the office and they basically beg me not to quit.

All and all, I think it's starting to have a negative effect on me because I'm at home and I don't feel motivated to want to do anything, but I don't want to go to bed or do anything that will make time go by faster because I really don't want to go to work tomorrow.

The best time to look for a job is while you're still employed. If you're unhappy and have nobody to support but yourself, it might be worth taking a slight pay cut in exchange for happiness. Happiness is a lot harder to cure than a broken leg, might as well take a small detour now and recharge yourself.

I, personally, wouldn't mind getting a less paying job if that means I'm overall happier. Everybody else seem to nag me to death though about how I shouldn't be going downward if I'm looking for a new job. I don't give enough of a fuck to really listen to them though. If I find something better that pays less, I'll take it.

One time I was actually considering going back to my old job, which payed much less and I don't fucking know how, but my mom found out, blew up my phone in the middle of the night and basically lectured me about not going for a new job that pays less. Then she called me that next morning as I was going to work to tell me that she talked with my aunt (her sister) about me considering that and she agreed with her. My mom can be really annoying...

If you've got a valuable skill in whatever field you're in, just use it as leverage in interviews. Tell them "I'm making this amount right now, I'd be will to work for a little less than that"

Bargaining chip only works if you're in a high demand industry though, if you're just bouncing between retail or entry-level jobs it's probably not worth bringing up. Also, don't mention that you're unhappy with your current/previous job during interviews, just mention things like "Looking for upwards momentum" or "A new experience" or something.

What kind of work do you do

I work at a hotel. Sometimes I work at a desk in the main lobby and sometimes I work at a desk that's in front of a sky club for rich people.

Resign immediately. If it takes you threatening to leave for them to actually give you any recognition, then they don't deserve you. If they need you that badly, then maybe literally resigning will force them to have a higher standard of treatment either for you, or for the next hire.

And boy, they hire some real fucking winners up here. When I think the current people that I'm working with are useless, they bring in someone who, in their first few weeks, has already called out 3+ times for a variety of reasons (I was sick, I lost my wallet, I lost my ID card, my car isn't working, etc.)
