It's definitely not like a good technical shooter by any means. The bloom ruins that. But it's definitely just a fun game overall.

Fortnite is a God awful shooter. I try to avoid shooting as much as possible, and simply rely on shotguns.

If you have friends that aren't gonna take the game seriously then its fun. There is shopping carts to ride around in and have shopping cart races and other stuff. Do you mean good as in good to have fun with or good competitively? Generally both. Like I said, I used to mess around in Quake but I also played competitively. I liked being part of the modding community, they recruited me after I became a library of exploits. Sometimes I played serious too and I was pretty good, not the best but good enough to be recruited into a clan. Not really expecting the same experience.
