Is it easy to be friends with them, or is the cultural barrier too big? Do you feel a barrier at all when you talk to them?

I generally find it quite easy to make friends with them. I've had more than a few Indian and Sri-Lankan friends over the years and I've found them to be awesome people. Very rarely do cultural differences divide us, more often than not it's interesting to hear about their cultural practices and backgrounds if it come up for whatever reason. I also follow cricket so that's often a great conversation starter.

I assume you mean Indian from India, and I'm not in school anymore, but I didn't have any barriers when I was. In fact the Indian Students Association was always super friendly and always inviting everyone to the Diwali feast every year. I'm not even sure what you are trying to get at.
