I was going in expecting to be meh about it, but I actually really liked it. About the only scene that stood out that was terrible was the explanation for Han's last name. That didn't need an origin.

I didn't expect them to set up for a possible sequel or two with the Crimson Dawn syndicate, and I'd actually like to see that happen.

Why do you think the girl left? I took it to be because she knew they'd be chased forever and was freeing Han hence the lies about what happened.

My buddy took it to be because she's a stupid whore that abandoned him for power.

At first I thought the latter (hence her saying earlier if she explained everything to Han that he would look at her differently) but then thought she probably wanted Han out of the whole thing. My guess is that she might have a plan to get herself out or take out the Crimson Dawn. She seems to be clever enough to think of something like that.

Oh yeah, my favorite scene had to be in the space storm area with that huge gravity well and the eldritch abomination. That was intense.

Went in expecting a mess, ended up being my favorite of the new films so far.

Cameo at the end floored me pretty hard, knew he was alive in the the cartoon, but never expected to see him in a movie again.

Also loved that it was a Star Wars Underworld style project. Been waiting for something like that from Star Wars since Bounty Hunter for PS2 and GC.

Yeah, I was wanting to see something like that. There was hints of it in the main movies but it's cool to actually see something like that.

The problem is that the guy playing Solo isn't Solo.

Unless they work into the story that he has a face transplant or something. I could work with that.

I love the whole gangster/underworld side of the Star Wars universe. Would be an awesome setting for a video game.

There was a Star Wars game on PSP called Rebel Alliance that was sorta similar too.

But I'd love a full on RPG/immersive sim sorta thing in this setting. Just a small scale romp where you choose your gangs and allegiances and get bounced from planet to planet. Barely anyone being important or notable.

Yeah, I liked it too. It wasn't just that it passed my bottom of the barrel expectations of the film so it gets a pass by default, I genuinely enjoyed it.
