I can't think of a time i've ever gotten one/seen someone get one.

It's super rare that I get one. American restaurant portions are so massive that there's just no room left, man.

I get them sometimes, especially if they have something like a warm brownie with ice cream. There's a Thai place I go to which serves a rice pudding dessert with ice cream and I get that every time.

If I'm splitting one or they have something small I occasionally will. I'm not going to eat a big ass slice of pie with ice cream after a huge meal though.

Sometimes they're a cool thing to get on dates since you can just share a piece of pie or whatever it is. It's somewhat romantic.

Have some limited anecdotal experience. Ice cream is fairly popular, especially during the summer. Pies are a bit less popular. I'd guess only around 5-10% of people tend to order pie. Maybe around ... 20-25% for ice cream during the summer?

Most of the time, no.

If I do get a dessert, it's because it's a special occasion, I'm traveling and like to try things out, or the place is known for a dessert.

Desserts from high end restaurants are some of the best things I've ever had.

It's rare that I get one. Unless I go to the Cheesecake Factory. Then the whole point of that trip is to get dessert.

The only place I use to regularly get a dessert from until their menu went to shit was Mimi's Cafe. Their bread pudding with whiskey sauce is amazing.

A tiramisu at an italian restaurant but that's once every few years.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago. The roasted chicken crepes were really good, and I too, had the bread pudding with whiskey sauce, and can attest to it's amazingness.

I have never gotten desert or seen anyone eat it at the restaurant, but I have seen some people take it home with them. I just could never understand eating desert after a big meal, but that's me.
