Using Halloween as an example. They had like 8 movies from the Original, up through like Resurrection. Then they rebooted with Rob Zombie's two movies, and now are returning to the original film's timeline with the new Halloween.

So what movies would you like to follow this?

My example:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (do TMNT 4- with a tone of either the first or second movie, bypassing the recent reboots, complete with puppets/suits rather than CGI)

Return to originals? Halloween is just getting a sequel that ignores the events of the other sequels.

Even though it will never happen now, Ghostbusters would have been my vote.

Yes but it's returning to the original canon, rather than the reboot canon. That is my point.

I'd be extremely happy to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Advent of Krang.

If you're talking about the 90s movies, we already had a TMNT 3. I haven't seen it in like 20 years though and as a kid I didn't like it. I'd be down for a Krang debut in the 90s movie universe

This would be the third film in the series after the first two. It could replace that movie where they go to Japan.

So retconning the 3rd film. I approve

i thought the tmnt 2007 movie was supposed to be this? i thought it was a decent movie, i'm not sure why everyone forgets it exists.

i'd totally be up for a new tmnt that continues after 2 and follows the same realistically darker path that the original film followed. that'd be pretty cool.

This was my first thought as well

I can't really think of any film series that could do well by doing this.

The ironic part being that this is actually the second time they tried it with this franchise.
