With mine, if you hold in the center the entire piece of plastic pops into the controller. Its really awkward and unresponsive-feeling to input more than one direction at a time. I mean like, there's only a click for the first direction held down, after that there's no tactile feedback to know if a secondary direction is being pushed in by your thumb. Contrast with the Xbone controller or say 3DS.
