spread over two days. It shouldnt be this difficult

i need to reattach one of the arms, so I have a glasses kit with mini screws and mini screwdriver

for the life of me i cant get the screw in the hole. like, i cant even get it in there by hand turning or screwing it to stick in so i can screw at my leisure.

unintended sexual references aside this is kinda pissing me off. im pretty sure the screws are the right size, too.

what gives?

Try to find a magnetic glasses screwdriver or something. Can you get the actual screw into the hole and it just won't turn or can you not get it into the hole to try to turn it?

every time i try to put it in the hole something causes it to tilt to one side and wont screw in properly i feel like but i cant get the tread to catch the screw at all.

perhaps my screws are too big, but ive tried all of them and i have two sizes.

Try finding a magnetic screwdriver for glasses repair then. That might help.

Perhaps there is an issue with the frame/the holes in the frame or the threads on your replacement screws are incompatible. Might be time to take them in to a glasses shop unfortunately :(

last time a screw got loose on my glasses I took it to an optometrist to get it tightened and he replaced because it was stripped and for free because "Screws cost nothing". Nice guy.

Try the screw just on the arm then, to check if the screw is the right size. If it fits, then you know the hole and the threaded hole aren't lining up properly.
