It does when it is stupid easy stuff like your and you're. Specially for some reason they use the longer spelling, I mean if you are too lazy to know the difference why bother typing out the longer one?

The early days of message boards and forums were horrible filled with turbonerds

If you guys thought the grammar police and turbonerds are bad today, they were literally 10x worse back then. I remember I met a dude on GameFAQs who hated acronyms and shorten words. I think it was an RPG board and I used POW for Power, MAG for Magic and LVL for level and so worth. The dude came in going HAM about how I'm a lazy dude not wanting to spell out the whole words and used sloppy typing instead. I told him to chill, that it was not a big deal and that even the game itself used shorten words like that. The dude went on about how it's only two more letters to type to get the full words so why was I so dumb and low in IQ that I was not able to type it. It was fucking awful. I asked him what website was we on and he said GameFAQs and I said WRONG we are on Game FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS spell it all out you lazy bum. Check mated that nerd.

Now a days slangs and sloppy typing is very well accepted which is a very good thing and turbonerds are heavily condemned these days.

Out of the two of you, I bet you're the only one who remembers this "incident".Imagine being so insecure that being called dumb on the Internet years ago makes you retell a story like this.

Yes, a bit. I studied English and Linguistics so grammar has kinda been hammered into me.

The only time I'll be like "are you incompetent? learn to communicate" is when someone who's supposed to be a business professional (lawyers, CEOs, investors, etc) doesn't utilize language effectively.

I was being sued last year by my old apartment building and actually had the charges dropped because I used the emails that they had sent to me as "evidence of their complete lack and disregard of effective communication" which led me to believe that them emailing me in the first place was fraudulent or a scam.

Suckers had to pay me 25k plus close to 4000 in court fees and whatever their lawyers cost. They also forged documents making it look like my lease was extended indefinitely when I had the original paper copies. Morons.

Used to bother me, then I started learning other languages and have since become more lenient.
