all of the matches from the quarter finals onward will be held in the US?

the final is going to be held at metlife stadium and not the obvious choice of 100,000+ seat azteca stadium in mexico?

I guess it makes sense because canada for sure and mexico likely wouldnt have won a bid if they didnt have the US there, but mexico got screwed.

I also think its dumb this world cup has 48 teams in it...32 was a good number...48 likely wont increase the odds of cinderallas making a run just more filler matches like Macedonia vs Peru.

seeing how un respected America is in soccer, it would be kinda funny for us to host the World Cup

Final was at the Rose Bowl which is leagues better than metlife stadium in....new jersey.

Actually that world cup had the highest attendance of a world cup ever, despite having only 24 teams and not 32 and playing less matches. Your average NFL stadium holds way more than most soccer venues in other countries. However my issue is how the US got too large a piece of the pie(but then again i assume if they didnt this entire bid wouldnt have happened), and one of the most historic football stadiums in the world(azteca) isn't really going to play a big part in all this.

I think 32 is a good number. 48 is just silly. Gonna be a lot of bad matches.

Soccer is quickly on the rise here. It will probably be huge in 2026

People complain now that because of how it is, some decent teams like Zlatan's Sweden dont get in but other teams like Nigeria or Iran who arent as good do.

I dont know what the format is going to be but 48 is absurd. We dont need more filler matches like Burkina Faso vs. Kazakhstan. Im all for advancing the level of soccer in other countries, and places like New Zealand(who tied 3 games, including one vs Italy in 2010) are enthralled and captivated when they make it. But I dont know what this is supposed to accomplish other than more money for fifa

I just want to applaud the brave way that the US boycotted this year's Russian-hosted World Cup by deliberately failing to qualify.
