RIP galaxy note 4. no idea what happened or why it happened.

Not sure what kind of hone I should get next (no apple phones though)

Should I just buy an unlocked phone? I'm sure I have an upgrade, but I want to switch carriers. If I upgrade, will I have to renew the contract?

A note 4 is well past it's shelf life. I'm surprised it's self destruct mechanism didn't trigger earlier.

I think they'll lock you in if you use your upgrade. Use it if you like your service. Don't and get something unlocked so you can do what you want with it but it's typically more expensive outright.

I've had Motorola x pure but that crapped out a little after it's warranty. A shame because I liked that phone and miss some of it's features and design. Jumped back to Samsung with the s8+ and it's solid so far.

Only issue is I feel like I'm not utilizing it's features like at all but that's just me.

yeah, I was afraid that I would be locked in if I upgrade

so I messed around with my phone, and I got it to work. I wonder how long it'll last. I'm hoping that It will be up and running for when I make the 3 hour drive to my parents house on friday. I got to read up on the directions so I don't get lost lol

That is to bad, the Note 9 is right around the corner

Note 8 is a great phone though
