I'm trying to use my AC less in the summer to save money, and I've generally adapted well, except when it comes time to sleep. I hate sleeping in the heat. I just saw something called cooling weighted blankets which supposedly use a certain material to pull body heat off of you, but I'm a bit skeptical of how well they work.

Anyone have experience with them, or other ways of staying cool while sleeping?

i have never heard of them but now i must know if they work. i can chill in my living room at 85 or 90 and be reasonably comfortable. I can't sleep when its above about 68 in my room and 62-65* is my comfort zone for sleep.

i like to be bundled in 50 pounds of blankets even in August. Warm inside the blankets, freezing outside. That is my model.

there is a small dog that sleeps in my bed which produces the sort of heat energy that would cause near-instant death to cold blooded reptilians like myself

ugh, biological heat sources throwing off the temperature balance while sleeping are the worst.

You understand my life. I might buy a very expensive one I've found that has a return policy and see if that shit works.

I like it cool but I have a pretty large house and the bedrooms are on the second level so they don't cool as well.

I just use blackouts, ceiling fan, light sheet and appropriate weight duvet. Also sleep buff if needed.

What is a weight duvet and sleep buff?

I would die.

If I sleep in a room below 70 degrees I wake up with a sore throat, clogged nose, and just generally feel bad. It's like it somehow makes me sick overnight.
