Is this just a voice chat thing or what.
I've been playing an online game and people want me to join it.

I'm a late joiner if a joiner at all.

The main feature is probably servers, which are basically just like big chatrooms you can join. They're really easy to set up, and there's some huge ones with thousands of members, but you can make one for a small friend group easily too. It also acts as a pretty nice replacement for skype, with one on one messaging and voice calls.

oh yeah it's voice and text, i barely use the voice stuff myself. A discord server is split into channels, some of which are voice chat rooms you can join and leave at will. You can also like start a one on one call with a friend anytime too.

Oh okay so there is a text / message board aspect?
I just like it when I can stay in touch but not always have to be on point.

If I like Gfaqs chat...not just CE but the other more social boards like the Dreamcast board...should I like discord?
