Reading up some stories on homeless people, cause what else do people do when they should be studying for exams.

Anyways, apparently a lot of them involve parents straight up kicking them out, the moment they are 18. Damn, didn't know parents hated their children so much.

It's highly unlikely, but it could happen to anybody. I'd probably try to trick the military into taking me if it got to that point.

My grandmother kicked all 4 of her kids out the moment they turned 18. Shes really old school, Im not sure if thats how it used to be back then or what. But I always thought she was so mean for that.

Her one son (my uncle) had nowhere to live for a little and she still kicked him out. He ended up joining (or getting drafted, I forget) for the Vietnam war

To poor to afford either.
My only option is either echo park or that freeway tunnel all the way by downtown.

is that still happening?

maybe decades ago (2-3 generations ago at least) I can see it but today? i find it unlikely 18 year olds are getting kicked out simply because theres more empathy in families these days.
just saying...
if an 18 year old is kicked out its likely because theres no compromise to what that 18 year old is doing. neither the parent(s) or the child can afford the time and money to live the current lifestyle theyve choosen. so, the attitudes towards dealing with this is very confrontational.
this results in my way or the highway approach to solve this issue. maybe these children do it to hurt their parents, to show they failed at raising them.
we can also say that children hate their parents if we use the premise of the OP parents hating their children enough to push them out of the home. the lack of parental guidance and care is often pointed out. this draws the fear of the unknown. thus, it's easier to hate than to communicate their issues. these show how both sides are not compromising their concerns together and have set extreme expectations neither side can do.

Even if one does end up "homeless", there is a way to have a house for free.

Whenever you do become homeless you can walk around at night 4-5 miles out of town in the middle of nowhere and you see a nice big house on the hills area, take it by force late at night.

Cut the power first though so the original owners don't call for help or whatever.

Lol.

At what uber drivers make per hour he'd have to be hustling 22 hours a day to make anything above the car rental and he'd still be homeless.

It's not something I really worry about. My wife and I both make good money, and we have critical illness insurance with our mortgage so if one of us got really sick with cancer or whatever and couldn't work, the insurance covers our home payments.

No but I am very fortunate. I had a family who supported me through my early 20s when I simply didnt give a fuck. Its kind of funny because I always took school seriously but I zoned out on the real world until around 25. Just take your work seriously. You have to pay your dues before actual options open up.

This topic made me laugh. All of you all scared mommy and daddy will give you the boot and kick you out of the basement lol

Newsflash, youll sink or swim. Its not that hard to find a cheap place to live and get a full time job. Even if you have to get a roommate or put college on hold.

Dont be so pitiful

they want 1st, last month and deposit.

coming up with the 1st and last is easy. it's the deposit that screws us over (which is to cover damages when the tenants leave).

There's never a good excuse to be homeless long term. Outside of severe mental health issues.
