Really nice looking city. Very clean as well surprisingly. Extremely modern looking. The part of the city I'm in is all brand new and fairly upper-class (Maserrati's and BMWs everywhere).

The Chinese definitely gawk at you for being a foreigner. I walked to the mall last night and everyone starred to say the least. A lot of them were starring at my tattoos as well (not a very popular thing in China).

Getting over the general "rudeness" of mainland China will be the hardest part. They smoke in restaurants (their finished food plate as an ashtray), spit/blow their nose without tissue everywhere (including onto the floor of restaurants) and they have no shame when it comes to starring at you or even taking pictures of you. Everyone I have met so far has been super nice though so I'm off to a good start.

Cost of living is extremely high and way too many people. Ningbo is a small city by Chinese standards (less than 8 million but fairly spread out over a large area). I couldn't live in a place like Hong Kong, Beijing or Shanghai.

Yea Ningbo is full of high rises and they are all very modern looking. Tbh, if there wasn't so many of them I'd think I was in a western country.

I had only been to Guangzhou before this (only for about 10 hours). It wasn't very nice the little bit I had seen.

This place has a LOT of green which was surprising as well. Big parks and nice rivers throughout the city. Really nice view of the river and city center from my apartment. I'll take pics and upload them later.

Still need to get myself a vpn. Sucks not being able to access Facebook or YouTube.

My boss is going to supply me with a vpn which is great.

It's taken less than 48 hours for me to realise that I have made the right choice by coming here. I was obviously worried at first but I've quickly realised that this is exactly what they promised. Everyone at the school is incredible. The owner kept saying how we would be like a family, and honestly it feels like that already.

Once my wife and daughter are here it will be perfect.

It's funny how getting drunk with your boss and Co workers can really increase your confidence level. There is so much potential with this school. The owner has put so much into the school he seems like a genuinely good person. In July he is paying for us all the fly to the North of China for a charity event. Going to supply a poor village with school supplies, winter clothing, etc.

I honestly see a bright future with this school. Within 2 years I can be looking at a salary of $5,000+ per month easily. I very glad that I took this risk.
