I watched a single Markiplier video with an alt email that I hadn't used for youtube anymore and now the whole front page is filled with similar recommendations. There's one channel called 'MediaGamesGuide'.

Almost all of these videos are at most two weeks old. And this is only maybe 1/3 or half of the videos in that time. They all range from a few hundred views to hundreds of thousands of them. What the hell?

this is what i hate the most about youtube. i use private windows in firefox now whenever i wanna watch stupid clickbait shit because just watching one of them will fuck up my recommended list.

The guy in TC's recommendations can't even seem to break 1000 views on most of his videos. He seems lucky to break 500.

Yeah, YouTube's algorithm is beyond fucked. I clicked a video from a guy not knowing his content was all about speedrunning like 3 months ago, left after about 2 minutes, and am STILL getting his stuff in my recommended list.

Supposedly they're planning on fucking up the subscription feed soon too, because actually LISTING THE UPLOADS OF THE PEOPLE I'VE SUBSCRIBED TO IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER makes it too easy for people who know how to find the subscription feed to find what they want. Pretty soon we'll be having to visit all our favorite channels' upload pages daily, and then I'm sure they'll find a way to muck that up too.
