really

it feels like someone took 7-8 writers and producers who hate or are not interested in star wars as a franchise and told them to make movies out of the stuff available

Also Abrams and Johnson are both absolutely Star Wars fans. Lawrence Kasdan (who wrote TFA and Solo) also wrote ESB and RotJ

So this whole thing about "they're not fans" doesn't make much sense
