No one is going to say "oh you buy iPhone so you must be rich" when the same would be said for the person who bought the S9+. And the iphone X and the iPhone 8 aren't the only Apple phones on the market, the iPhone SE is still a valid phone and is considerably cheaper There still may be other cheap android options out there, but no on is looking at someone who just bought an iPhone SE and saying they bought that phone as a status symbol.
