You might get 1080p on some older / simpler ones. If you're okay with that, should be a pretty solid machine otherwise. "Steam games" could be anything from classic DOS games that could run on a 486, to really fancy recent AAA titles that pretty much need an i9 + 128GB RAM + SLI'd dual Titan X's. (I may be slightly exaggerating there.) :P But yeah, for that, should be fine.
