GTX 1050...
I mean, it's not going to be useless, but you're probably going to be limited to 720p on most games. You might get 1080p on some older / simpler ones. If you're okay with that, should be a pretty solid machine otherwise. Aside from that, seems good to me. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

GTX 1050... It's for my nephew who I promised to buy a gaming laptop for if he scores a 4.0 this year. Fuck this kid and his good grades. All he plays is Fortnite and Steam games, I'm sure it's good enough. --- I'm Veggeta X's alt ... Copied to Clipboard!

DarkTransient posted...GTX 1050... "Steam games" could be anything from classic DOS games that could run on a 486, to really fancy recent AAA titles that pretty much need an i9 + 128GB RAM + SLI'd dual Titan X's. (I may be slightly exaggerating there.) :P But yeah, for that, should be fine. I don't think the 8GB of RAM will be a problem either (and most laptops you can upgrade the RAM later if you want). 8GB is a bit low for heavy multitasky office usage and similar these days, but it's still sufficient for a gaming machine - the GPU and the *speed* of the RAM is more important than the quantity, within reason (you still probably don't want to go below 8GB). --- ... DarkTransient posted...GTX 1050... I'll admit I've never actually used a GTX 1050 machine; I'm basing that off performance comparisons to GPUs I have used (specifically GTX 1060 3GB and GTX 960 4GB) and what I've been able to do on those. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Please don't buy a GTX 1050. It's not a gaming card. Get a GTX 1050 Ti The site OP linked, at least, it costs something like $500 more to get the otherwise-same laptop but with a TI. And from there, it's only something like $50 more to get a 1060, so may as well get that. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
