Obviously that's true but no one is forced to work at one specific job if they don't like it.

No one is forced to open a bakery.

Are you trying to imply people are being hypocrites?

If they'd answer the question I'd outright call them hypocrites based on the answer.

No relevance at all, but that won't stop him from trying to make it relevant.

Every single one of you is afraid to answer this question.

So it's a religious person's choice to work like it's a religious person's choice to open a business?

There's a difference between choosing to work at a company and a company refusing to do custom orders based on religious reasons. Especially since Amazon isn't even infringing on their rights. They're allowed to fast as much as they want, nobody is stopping them.

Amazon isn't infringing on their rights. They just need to quit if they can't handle fasting and working.

No one is infringing on the business owner's rights either. They just need to quit if they can't handle making cake for any protected class.

Sorry you can't tell the difference between doing a job and making art.

2. a task or piece of work, especially one that is paid.

And making and decorating a cake is art. You wouldn't commission an artist to paint something they don't agree with. Now, making a plain cake with no words or anything shouldn't be covered by religious freedom.

Recently, I couldnt work because I needed water, Nimo Hirad, an order picker at the facility, said through an interpreter. I got so thirsty, I couldnt even swallow my saliva. I ended up breaking my fast and drinking water two days in a row.

Immediate Fair, Next. I'm all for you following your religious practices and shit but expecting your employer to provide working conditions where you can do your job without drinking water for two days? That's beyond ridiculous

That's not quite how ramadan works, but the point is still good.

Are they similar choices? Both argue accommodations for religious freedom. One to not pass out during work and one to violate the Civil Rights Act.

The CRA doesn't protect people from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, though. That is why it is so important that the state commission, created by the state law that protects people on that basis, was overtly hostile towards the baker's religion

Bunch of whiny pussies, I work in an enclosed industrial building with no AC or fans with little to no water because the few nasty fountains we got are either warm water or it tastes like chemicals. You sweat just standing around.

The real reason why all of you are posting so cruelly and cynically is because the articles involves Muslims. You feel that Muslims are backward savages because of X Y and Z and are therefore unworthy of your compassion.

Again, what accommodation can Amazon provide for someone who refuses to drink water?
About all I can think of is moving to the graveyard shift for Ramadan.

Sounds pretty fair next. Even as shitty as Amazon is, if you're not drinking water due to a fast but get to be accommodated with less work, that's the definition of unfair to the coworkers who have to pick up your slack. You're warehouse work, not retail.

This.

Can't do that - that'd be considered religious discrimination.
