Too far away for me to riot. Id probably be warned if I were to say what I feel the people out that way should do.

Anyone who saw the full video leading up to the altercation wouldn't be shocked. The cop was just doing his job.

I think this is a huge issue right now. Only showing clips of videos to fit narratives.

It's been going on forever. The mainstream media did the same thing with the Rodney King beating, not showing what lead to the altercation.

Again, the issue with Rodney King wasn't that anyone suggested he was innocent, it was that police used excessive force / brutality to do their job.

These people will never understand. They think any amount of force is acceptable as long as it's done to someone they dislike

Or they could have...you know...NOT taken her down

She could've gave them her last name, and just complied and gave up the alcohol.
Common sense is you don't talk back to cops.

Yea well if you did and didn't keep on walking away from them, they wouldn't have tried to tackle you down and punch you.

And GEE what a surprise SHE IS ON PROBATION from 2016.

P sure failure to identify is a legitimate reason to detain someone until they can identify them.

Uh no, it's not. What the fuck?

Though to be fair, it is best to just identify yourself to a cop. I mean if you want to fight it, more power to you. But uh..it tends to not work out so well most of the time.

That said, she attacked an officer. Nuff' said. Don't hit people, you won't get hit back.

That's nice.

Except its 21 in america.

And they had probable cause to ID her because she was in possession of alcohol on the beach.

Which in NJ on the beaches is not allowed at all. Open or not. Once she said she was 20 they had reason to obtain her ID.

She was difficult cause she knew she was on probation already, had a kid and was gonna get written up. She played a stupid game and won the stupid prize.

There was no aunt. Notice how when shes calling her aunt, she walks away. After this story broke did anyone ever come forward as the aunt?

Let's ignore the facade. Those were hers, she was gonna drink them and got bagged. She could have given them her ID (but that would bring up her probation) and dumped out the alcohol. But that's too hard. Much easier to fight the police when you're overwhelmingly wrong.

Once he told her he had enough she got up and walked away. Then she kicked a cop and spit on one as well. It's all in the video. She had zero composure.

Cops didnt escalate the situation. The brat bitch did.

So, is it police brutality cause it was a woman?

If it was a man who was kicking and flailing in a public beach, how do you restrain said individual?

Would it be ok to use physical force in that case?

It would still be police brutality and shouldn't be excused at all. Pinning someone down and hitting them in the face is inexcusable for a police officer to do

The problem is, is that this specific part of NJ has a history of problems with alcohol and drugs on the beaches.

It's a very family orientated beach town with amusements parks, carnivals and boardwalk attractions. If the town let's shut like this go constantly it hurts their image and their economy.

There are constantly fights and problems with adults and underage kids. So they are enforcing a zero tolerance rule against alcohol on the beaches.

So, if the cop is there to enforce a law or policy, why should he just ignore it rather than the person breaking the law either comply with his request or just not break the law?

Not all are dumb.

And you wouldnt need zero tolerance rules and laws if society wasnt full of asshole opportunists who ruin everything for everyone else because they're selfish.

You USED to be able to drink openly on any beach in NJ. Now its limited to private beaches or restaurants/bars that have a beach section.

The reason for it is because morons cannot control themselves. People were causing ridiculous fights and people were getting hurt on government property because they were so intoxicated.

Most people who go to the beach have kids or it's people who just want to relax. Not deal with rowdy and obnoxious idiots who have zero sense of discipline to not get absolutely shit faced and cause scenes.

Many of the NJ beach towns live on the money they make from the boardwalk, beaches and amusement sections. The rule is there to protect the integrity of their beaches.

He did. She was causing a massive scene and he even told her to stop and relax. She never listened. She kept ESCALATING the situation and when hes trying to cuff her shes still fighting and kicking and screaming.

Are we going to say just because shes a woman she cant cause any physical damage with a good kick to the balls?

The rules and laws dont and shouldnt discriminate. For a country that's hell bent on equality, seems like she got her equal treatment like any man in her shoes would have if he was pulling the same shit.

Then blame the politicians who wrote them.

The cops who enforce them are just as bad

Uh, no. If the law didn't exist, the cops wouldn't have the probable cause to question/detain people are the law.

She could've gave them her last name, and just complied and gave up the alcohol.

She shouldn't have had to.

She was underage in possession on alcohol, right there she was breaking the law, and the other month I read how wildwood was goinf to be alot more strict about people having alcohol on the beach.

She was 20, old enough to drink alcohol in literally every other first world country on the planet.

This should be the end of the topic. Fairest of the nexts.

Just because something exists doesn't mean you have to enforce it. Cops are allowed to use discretion. For example - many cops give you a warning or ignore you if they see you smoking weed. Weed is illegal here in Canada until...later today, actually.

Any cop that sends someone to jail for it is an asshole. They're free to not enforce the law. Entire departments have said they won't do it.

And the cops weren't going to enforce it initially. They asked her to dump out the alcohol, then she went into full bitch mode.

They shouldn't have tried to make her dump out her drink. That shit costs money. At least compensate her

Seems to be a simple case where both sides were in the wrong here. She clearly escalated it but not to the point where you need to start punching a restrained woman

You think a cop is going to give alcohol back to an underage girl and let her go? Ayyy lmao.

Well no, ideally the cop wouldn't take the alcohol away from the legal adult in the first place.

Get that puritanical bullshit out of here
