This is a stupid idea from a business perspective. Charging power, expense paying for them, software issues/malfunctions, ease of accessibility is gone.... I just don't see the reason you'd need to do this as a gimmick. Laminated paper menus are the best kind of menu. Pick it up. Open it. Bam, right there. Some things are better automated, but menus are bottom of the list.

You can make a menu that you can access and order from for smartphones(like when you connect to the stores wifi it prompts you to open the menu or something) But yeah buying dozens of iPads sounds like a shit idea --- ... It will be stolen and any tracking device you plan on it is gone. They're physically durable, probably use much more stable software (unless you decide to constantly update them and add new features), and they don't need to worry much about people stealing them considering that their large and probably not very useful to the average person. --- Wow~ Monster eats the image ...
