and I've barely seen any kind of marketing for it lol
In fact, I haven't seen anything about it ever since the reveal trailer.

I'll copy and paste what I posted about Vampyr on the PC board:

It's the new game made by DONTNOD, the team that did Remember Me and Life Is Strange.

It's an RPG where you play a newly transformed vampire who's also a doctor. There's some kind of plague or disease running rampant in the city you're in (London). You can choose to use your medical skills to help cure the citizens or feed on them to make yourself stronger. If you help them the districts they reside in improve, but if you feed on them and/or kill them the districts becomes worse until they eventually fall. The condition of the district affects things like shop prices, the quality of life for the citizens there and how many enemies appear (if a district falls it gets overtaken by enemies). The choices you make guide you towards one of multiple endings (including one if all the districts fall).

And supposedly the citizens you interact with and either treat or kill are all rather unique. Something like at least 50-60 if I remember correctly. There are enemies you'll have to fight regardless so there's still combat and whatnot in the game, but the big interesting aspect to me is the doctor angle and the supposedly unique citizens you'll get to meet and interact with.

There are also a few streams the dev have done regarding the game. Here are the links to those streams:

DONTNOD is very good at storytelling, but the "game" part of their games kinda suck.

Remember Me's gameplay was fine, it was just a rather short game. I got it for dirt-cheap so I had no problems with that, but if I had paid $60 for it at launch I would have been disappointed.

I like Dontnod's games but I dunno about this one. I'd be surprised if they can succeed at making a game of this scale.

Maybe it will end up being a cult hit.

That sounds like a lot of promises for such an unknown studio. Really, makes me nervous about it. The fact that it is also from a studio that focuses on linear adventure games make me think it might be far more linear than the games I'm normally interested in.

Because this seems so far out of their element. Of course it could be great, but historically speaking ambitious things like this don't work out on the first crack.

I can understand being wary because they haven't done a full fledged RPG before, but I wouldn't call them an unknown studio since they have two major releases under their belt (both published by major publishers).

After Life is Strange, you absolutely cannot say that.

No, no, you misunderstand. I meant wary in the sense that I like the ideas it is promising, but I'm unsure they will pan out as grand as they say they are, and I also worry that it will be far more of a linear, cinematic experience, which isn't a bad thing, but simply isn't something I care for.

I knew someone was going to say something like that. Anyway, yeah, unknown is probably not the right word. Small maybe? I'm trying to think of a word that means a studio of smaller size. But yeah, you are right, my bad.

Just an FYI for anyone considering pre-ordering the PC version on Steam:

The game's unlock time just got changed to today so it will be unlocking in 5 hours or so. I only mention this cause on Steam there's a 10% discount for pre-ordering.

I'd recommend using GMG instead, JUNE25 promo code (I think that's it; it's on the home page, whatever it was) knocks 25% off

True, but if the game is bad or has a lot of technical issues you're stuck with it if you buy from GMG. Through Steam you can at least refund.

But yeah, GMG is the cheaper overall price.
