Funny how liberal tolerance only extends to people they agree with.

The word 'Liberal' means liberty. Well Liberty is a double edged sword that has to work for everybody in the Nation, or nobody.

There actually was a time when my whole family and I were extremely anti-gay. Now that I look back on it, I'm not even sure why we were in the first place, but I know what the catalyst was to breaking that prejudice.

I'll give you an example. One of my younger cousins on my Mom's side is a Lesbian. The other cousin from my Dad's side is a Lesbian.

The one on my Mom's side wanted to come to the US for a Las Vegas vacation get-away with her Girl Friend at the time.

My family and I said yes immediately and allowed her to come to the US and stay over for a bit before heading out to Las Vegas.

My Aunt, her Mother literally lost her mind when she found out that she was a Lesbian and wouldn't speak to her normally for 3 years.

Her dad mostly ignored her once he found out.

My other Lesbian cousin on my Dad's side; Her Father basically shut his own daughter out for 5 years and only held minimal conversation with her. Only her mother communicated with her. She was kicked out of the house immediately.

Even now, the cousin on my Dad's side barely communicates with her parents to this day.

The other cousin on my Mom's side has more communication with my aunt, but it's still frustrating.

As I said, LGBT acceptance is only increasing year after year despite the best efforts of homophobes. Why should they be treated with respect for their bigoted beliefs when conditions are improving without their aid anyways? What's there to gain?
