This trick here:

How does it actually work? I tried to look high and low, and the only skip I found lets you skip only 1 level next to the elevator down. Far from the skip I saw that skipped the whole stage.

So they jump off the building and kill themselves? I don't get what's going on here at all.

He must have bound the "Go idle" to a specific key so the A.I would take over and when somebody is far enough away from the A.I it teleports it to the human player.

Yeah it just looks like Coach cleared a trigger, then Nick went idle (AI took over). AI teleports to the human players if they're too far away, then the person playing Nick took over for the AI.

But what about Rochelle and Ellis? If they were AI teleported, then they shouldn't have been able to run into the safehouse by themselves.

There are 4 people playing. Look at the face cams, and the names of the players.

But if they were human-controlled, then they wouldn't be able to teleport.

Ok, actually based on what you and cruddy said, most likely the humans controlling Ellis and Rochelle straight up left, then rejoined the game. Because if they were to just idle like Nick per your speculations, then they wouldn't have been able to teleport just like how Nick didn't.

Do you guys actually do these skips (rocket jumps, death teleports, etc.) in your games? Or is it more on minor skips like these?

They are human controlled, but you can press a button to go idle, which makes them AI controlled, they don't have to leave. Nick just did the timing off a little, so he just went and killed himself, the other people got the timing perfect and successfully teleported. You just don't see that because you only see 2 people on screen, the person activating the trigger and the one who missed the timing.

And I would say the major skips are reserved in speed running territory. Though I will admit knowing where the minor skips are does come in handy, I can't say really anyone I've played with actively uses glitch-based skips in normal gameplay. But like in the video you sent, yes minor skips like that, if you have a team that is good enough, can definitely use that.

It's been many years since I last played a L4D game but yeah I always used the smaller skips if I knew atleast one of teammates could do it too(Too paranoid about going it alone) or if it wasn't hard to teach.
