Either he was Town and scum wanted him dead anyways so it wouldn't have mattered.

Or the kidnapping thing was an elaborate ruse to "townclear" Chris for the rest of the game.

Puns had a similar role in Skyrim mafia and held back on kidnapping anyone on town until the end of the game. I felt the lynch on Puns was fast and easy, probably premeditated (Puns, MI, and Han did this in GOT4). Like, why kidnap Chris then just let the guy who kidnapped him die THAT EASILY. There was an obvious counter lynch (Han) with at least three [players im pretty comfortable are town, including me]. Puns just gave up. Probably to let scum ally Chris back in the game.

Pretty sure MI also in on this.
