I'll admit its not much

when you play Versus mode with a friend

its kinda funny, you don't full go into the game

they spread out all of the games on the screen and you select them as if you were selecting a character, then it jumps into the actual character select screen of the respective game

but once you finish the match, the UI of the collection pops up and asks if you want a rematch. but it doesn't actually rematch you, it goes back into the character selection. If you say no, it makes it go back to the game select screen

the advantage to this is you can hop between games WAY faster and try all of the different versions without having to fully dive into the games

now the actual pet peeve of mine is all of this bypasses the post battle splash screens and quotes

No more beaten up portraits and no YOU MUST DEFEAT SHENG LONG TO STAND A CHANCE. At least in Vs mode

also good god SF1 is the worst game ever. Its a miracle they okayed a sequel. I guess there was no standard back then but still

Believe it or not, Street Fighter 1 was pretty popular in arcades, at least in Japan. Definitely nothing compared to the mega-boom of 2 but it was a hit

Eh, I don't blame people for it because it definitely is not a good game. It's just that the 2 player versus aspect and special moves were fresh, and it had pretty large character graphics. The pressure-sensitive button gimmick also attracted players.

yeah SF1 is a bad game now but compared to arcade fighters that came before it, it was a vast improvement

I MIGHT actually prefer Urban Champion

I just vomited after saying that

I think SF1 was super popular because of the large, detailed sprites, the voices, and the elusive special moves

seriously they're so hard to pull off, I bet they were treated like fatalities were in the 90s and people spread rumors about them
