Oh yeah, it was Grind Session on that demo disc. I played that one a lot. While I was reading the previous posts I was thinking it was Thrasher: Skate and Destroy. I still remember the only skater you could use in the Grind Session demo was Daewon Song. I don't even know who that is or why I've retained that information, but there it is.

I subscribed to OPM from about month five until they stopped making them. I sold something like 100 demo discs on ebay a few years back for $100 and threw all the magazines in the recycling bin since I needed the space and didn't know what to do with them. I wonder how many games I ended up buying over the years because the demos were fun?

I remember convincing my mom to buy Pizza Hut just so I could get my hands on the Crash Team Racing demo before the game came out. There was a snowboard game on the same disc that had a Blink-182 song that got stuck in my head and so I went out and bought their CD.

Another popular one came with the old PlayStations, I think. It had Einhander and Tomba on it, which are now known to be good games, but probably wouldn't be known if not for that demo disc.

The only thing that held me for a while years back in baseball, was the pitchers who had odd pitch animations. That one guy that held out his right arm like a robot was pretty good. 8D

I was talking with my buds about this, but here's the question. If you can add 3 characters from any video game over to be in the new smash.

Mine are:

1. Eevee. And after getting your final smash or playing for a while, you evolve into a new eeveelution, each with different overtone styles

2. Phoenix Wright

3. A kinda obscure final fantasy character. Not sure which one

I've never really thought about pipe dream Smash characters like a lot of people do. Banjo-Kazooie would be cool, or Mike Jones, but I'm just copying ideas others say a lot.

I try to think of additional Zelda characters that would be good, and it keeps going back to MM. HMS could have an interesting moveset, Link's transformations, Skull Kid... The BotW champions would be cool but four is too many and how do you pick only one? Marin/Malon could be a decent kinda offbeat choice.

What if Young Link was like Pokemon Trainer with the three main transformations and Fierce Diety as a Final Smash? That would be cool

It's hard to ask for another FE character even as a thought experiment but in the Brawl era I badly wanted Ike's nemesis The Black Knight to get in. So for young me's sake I'll say him. Since Phoenix Wright has been taken I'll say his nemesis Professor Layton. And lastly the FF character thing inspired me to think about Nintendo RPG's so I'll say Frog from Chrono Trigger. Maybe Magus instead, Frog is just cool but pretty redundant in sword world

Geno from Super Mario RPG is one of the most requested so it would be funny to put Mallow in instead.

There isn't really anyone I'd like that much at this point because there's so many characters in it already, but I've always wanted to see Phoenix Wright in there and a goofy Waluigi moveset would have been cool. For a third... I'll say a Pokemon Trainer style Link from Majora's Mask so can choose between Deku Scrub, Zora and Goron forms. Then his final smash would be Fierce Deity. That'd be pretty cool.

Hot take: Waluigi is the worst Nintendo character.

Daisy is pretty bad too but at least she originally had a purpose at one point. They even did some stuff with Wario to kind of make him his own, but Waluigi basically just exists to be this counterpart to Luigi (as Daisy now is for Peach). I'm surprised they haven't made some wacky Bowser yet

I think Waluigi is one of the best. He basically just says wah, but he does that one thing really well and it entertains me.

Waluigi is a pros pro

The only one I'd really like to see is Professor Layton.

This is my way of saying I don't know. There aren't really any super famous people from mine, but based on my experiences there, at least half of every graduating class thinks like Rush Limbaugh.

I want to say Jordan Peterson, but he may have only been a professor at U of T, rather than a student. I'm too lazy to find out, and instead offer Peter Munk and Steven Harper.

makes sense I suppose. I just looked it up and it's the 6th biggest university in the states. I knew it's a really big school but I didn't realize it's quite that big

I kind of regret not going to Mizzou but I was scared to go to a school that big. It's not something that keeps me up at night but it would be nice if I could be one of those insufferable guys who loves his alma mater.

In hindsight I wish I had gone to CU. They also have pretty good engineering programs there but I might have also been able to actually meet liberals and women. IDGAF about the sports or alumni pride really

I think my left joycon's weird stick behavior has taken a turn for the worse. I'm long overdue to get a second Switch controller but I'm conflicted on getting a pro controller (for a real d-pad) or more joycons (way more convenient overall)

The pro controller is really fantastic but it is pretty expensive. Don't you mostly play on the TV though anyway? I don't know what's best for you but I can strongly endorse the pro controller.

I thought the pro controller was $10 less than the joycons (though yeah, still expensive). I'll probably get one but I need to determine if my existing joycon is at least somewhat usable, since I do use it handheld sometimes. I haven't really played my Switch enough lately to tell how bad it is in games, but it's very noticeable with menus.

Yeah I don't know the price difference but I think you're right that the dual joycons are more expensive. They all cost a fortune is the point.

Today my grandpa told a story about how he bought car parts (thrilling stuff) and he said "we got in touch with Amazon" to find them.

I really like the pro controller. Probably a month back I went to toys r us for their going out of business sale to see if I could pick up another pro controller or more joy cons but with the 15% off sale it was still more costly than they are at target, best buy, etc.

Also, I don't know much about Castlevania, but why is Alucard the choice there? Is he popular? Whenever I hear people talk about Smash characters they usually say Simon Belmont

Simon was the first playable character but Alucard is playable in their most successful game, Symphony of the Night. Plus he's Dracula's son but he's a good guy which is pretty cool
