Don't know if it's a terrible idea or not. But securing a working holiday visa, of some sort, just taking like $5000 and hoping for the best. Get hired in a bar and work at hostels.

Live the dream. I'll probably end up broke and have to ask Mum to pay for my flight home though.

I mean I hate living home because I have no life and friends and actively consider suicide on a daily basis. The only time I've been very happy is when travelling and meeting people. Alot of friends I've made live overseas.

Sounds like your life is in a bit of a rut and you need to shake things up one way or another. If you want to do it and nothing is holding you back then go do it before you regret not being able to do it.

wouldn't live oversea actually make you even lonelier? Without friends and families .

Do it if you can. I'm considering doing a similar thing in a couple of years once I've saved up the necessary funds and made sufficient progress learning German. Travelling certainly reinvigorates the soul when life seems dreary.

I mean, he absolutely should go either way, but it might be hard finding good work if he doesn't speak it well. But there's also nothing stopping him from taking some classes while he's there especially if he already knows a bit.
