and with managers approval, and replaces it with two dollar bills and half dollars so he can give out as change to people.

i like the way this guy operates. i wonder if anybody gets mad at him for not giving them back "regular" money in change?

Long ago, I worked as a cashier at a supermarket. Someone paid me in a $2 bill. Later on, I was running low on singles and the manager was taking too long to refill my register, so I gave the $2 bill as change to someone. Dude absolutely flipped out on me because I was giving him fake money. It took other customers in line to calm him down and convince him that this was legit money.

I was 17 at the time, he was likely in his 30s.

Speaking of which, I wonder why said business even wants to give them away purposely. At the end the day, the money goes to the.....company....bank....somewhere? They're not going to care in what form the money arrives in, right? Money is money.

Having worked as a cashier before, I try and keep small bills on me whenever possible. Part of me feels guilty using a $20 for a sub $5 purchase. Almost feels like I'm just buying something to get change even if that wasn't my intent.
