Because that damn rat is a lying asshole who knows he's a lying asshole and who targets children because he knows they don't have the emotional maturity to fully consider the weight of their actions. So he's kind of a predator offering children poisoned candy. Whenever possible, assholes shouldn't get to win, for a lot of reasons but mostly because it offends my sense of justice. So if there's a possibility Homura can find a solution that accomplishes her goal, she should work towards that end.

I mean, she definitely did. I mostly just pretend that movie didn't happen.

The fuck you talking about?

She moved all the suffering and curses away from the magical girls and onto the incubators, and allowed Madoka to continue living a happy life rather than be separated from everyone.

She created a better timeline. I don't see how that's wrong

I just realized this topic doesn't actually have a spoiler warning.

The only good thing to come out of the movie was blanket homu

I like the Mami vs Homura fight, and the accompanying score. It was cool to see Mami serve that kind of badass after her shortened run in the series. Also, the first half of the movie was kind of alright. I like the sense of intrigue, and we definitely know something is extremely wrong from the get go because Bebe is there. It's everything that happens after the fight with Mami that gets messy.

Sorta? She replaced Madoka in the Law of Cycles, breaking the balance that was created by the former's sacrifice, and she did it for selfish reasons, playing on Madoka's trusting nature to betray her at a crucial moment during Madoka's attempt to 'rescue' her. The consequences of those decisions are forced on everyone, without their approval. And it's not certain if, in her capacity as the evil counterpart to the Law of Cycles, she is a positive force in the universe, the way Madoka became an anthropomorphic personification of hope.

The condition of the world is in a clear state of flux and Homura's own mental state is uncertain as well. The movie's final scene is her dancing off the side of a cliff, possibly because she no longer believes there's any hope for her and Madoka's friendship because she believes the aforementioned betrayal may have killed any chance they had at reconciliation, even though she's 'saved' her It's making Homura (even more) crazy. The future of the 'perfect timeline' she's created seems really dubious. Is it really better than the system maintained by the Law of Cycles? What happens when Homura snaps?

Madoka didn't want to actually sacrifice herself, but it was the only thing she could do to save everyone so she did it. Homura was all "fuck that gimme my wife back" and fixed everything. LITERALLY NOTHING WRONG
