I hear people say all the time that it's better to "keep it real" and how fake people are bad. But, I do it all the time. My friends tell me I'm good at being fake.

If I was to "keep it real", that would be horrible. So, I act fake with everyone. There was one person I hated and was supporting their achievements and then ripped them apart in secret.

Different people have different personalities. Imagine how horrible things are if everyone was 100% real.

I usually have to make up experiences! And feeling

I make up what I do over the weekend, make up foods I eat and things I do. I made up a hobby that I skateboarded, and for some reason, they got mad later because of it. I was like, that's your fault for beliveing it.

What does being fake mean? To me it means compromising your own values (fex in the pursuit of something)

Being good at being fake seems like playing a game. How can you then trust that people arent the same thing? How can you trust that your friends arent playing you by saying you are good at playing?

Why not just put more worth into honesty?

I mean, whatever floats your boat. Im guessing that when it fails, you have less people to be around than if you were "keeping it real" -whatever that means to you :P

1) Be real. But then, have no traits

Keeping it real means that you are candid about who you really are while still being respectful or mindful to everyone around you because unlike soulless video game NPCs, they are real people that you shouldn't be mean to without just cause.

If you are actually a boring person in reality, don't try to cover it up by becoming a pathological liar and always making up stories about your life. Instead, start becoming the person you wish to be at a pace you are comfortable with instead of being fake around everyone all of the time.

One's feelings won't be hurt nearly as bad as if a fake person's real self slips through after the other has fallen for the lie, and they may feel cheated or betrayed as a result which would not have happened had they been real from the start (a good example of this is those that have married a person that wore a facade the entire time they were dating and they dropped the facade shortly after the honeymoon).
