My first intermission of playing through all my Y games was to see what Kratos has been up to since we last saw him on PS3. After I noticed Giant Bomb did a spoilercast on this games story and the fact it was getting GotY quality reviews I figured I better play this one sooner rather than later. I hadnt' really followed the game pre-release other than the trailers they showed at E3 so I wasn't 100% sure of what I was going to get and what a got was a far more story focused game compared to previous games of the series that pulled in various elements of Dark Souls, Zelda and Metroid (emphasis on Metroid) an combined them with the core action the series was already known for. The result is something that is a definite must play and we will certainly be hearing about again in 7 months when it's award time. All I'll say is I'm already writing down the sequel onto my list of most anticipated games.

This game's platinum is very easy. It can be done on any difficulty although I stuck to normal for the whole way through. I appreciate them only requiring a single playthrough for this too as too many games I've played of late have required 2 playthroughs or more for platinums. You're pretty much just completing the story and doing all the sidequests and optional bosses associated with them and finding all the collectibles on the map. Being this is mainly a 3D Metroid there's a lot of backtracking to previous areas once you get new abilities as the story progresses, but the checklists are very organized so always know what you're missing and looking for.

As for what's next I'm about to go on vacation back to my homeland for a week so not much trophying going on then (I'll mainly be catching up on Switch games!) but when I get back I'll get back to working on my Y's with Yakuza 4. Even though they just announced 3-5 are getting PS4 remasters I will stay the course and platinum these PS3 versions and maybe just end up playing them again if the PS4 versions end up getting english releases!
